Build Season - Week 7

Week 7 Build Season  Week 7 of build season has kept the members of Charge very busy.  With a shortened week and a lot of delays and setbacks, DAF and Software have been working hard to get our robot up and running. Design  Design has continued to update the CAD as problems arise in the fabrication process.  Members also worked on creating animations as we prepare for our Robot Reveal on Saturday. Fabrication  Fabrication has been putting in the extra hours to get our robot built to hand off to software to get it competition-ready.  Members have worked on putting together subsystems and integrating them with the robot. Business  Our business department is working to start another fundraiser, selling dip and dessert season and flavor packets along with other flavored snacks. Software  Software has been putting in the long hours to program and test the subsystems as they get added to the robot. Branding and Marketing   Branding and ...

Build Season - Week 6

Week 6 Build Season  The sixth week of build season has been extremely jam-packed for Charge. All departments have been working hard and making vital progress. Competitions are approaching rapidly, and the team has been working tirelessly to prepare for them on all fronts. Design  The Design department has been putting the finishing touches on the robot before handing it over to Fabrication. These modifications include fixing CAD, interferences, over-constraints and making mounts and set ups for electronics. The department has also collaborated with Fabrication and Software to map out where electronics should be placed on the robot.  Fabrication  Fabrication has been getting together odds and ends to maximize their time to build the robot.  Members of the department have been prepping chain and fabricating subsystems to get them ready to add to the robot.  With a delay in getting our subsystem parts cut, it has been a slow process.  Some other d...

Build Season - Week 5

The week five build season has been filled with challenges and progress. While the fabrication department has been finding ways to function without Red Watch’s water jet cutter, the software department has found success with megatag. Design  The Design department has finished designing all the robots subsystems besides its hanging.  The department has been actively researching different hanging systems and will have decided on a method soon. Fabrication  The Fabrication department has been building subsystems of the robot. Which includes the near completement of the elevator. The department has also started the coral intake system and has started the robots Spark Max production. Which contributes to the robot's power system. The Fabrication department has also been affected by Red Watch’s broken water jet cutter. Without the water jet cutter the team cannot cut its metal parts with accuracy. Buissines  The business department has continued selling its Valentines Day ...

Build Season - Week 4

The Charge Robotics Team has been firing on all cylinders this week! The team has finished some projects, but many are still being designed and built. Design The Design Department has been busy CADing our robots' coral intake, bumpers, and various custom parts like gussets, plates, and pulleys. Our coral intake utilizes spinning cylinders that spin forward and backward to intake and release coral. While the bumpers only protect our robot from impacts. Our custom parts are crucial for our robot subsystem's functionality. Fabrication The Fabrication Department is busy building our elevator. The elevator allows us to reach all four levels of the coral reef. It also comes with the ability to be compatible with our coral intake;  meaning our elevator and coral intake function as one subsystem increasing our efficiency. Software  The software department has finished our elevator code and our hanging subsystem code. They are testing automatic routes to allow the robot to move ...
